Technical Information – Installer Requirements & Scheme Inclusions
Sub-Contractor Requirements
All installers operating under the Luxusheat MCS Umbrella Scheme must meet the following minimum requirements to ensure compliance with MCS standards and UK regulations:
G3 Unvented Hot Water Qualification
Required for any installation involving unvented hot water cylinders.Water Regulations Certification
A current Water Regulations qualification (WRAS or equivalent) must be held.Relevant Technical Competence
Installers must be demonstrably competent in the installation of renewable heating systems, including air source heat pumps and associated plumbing works.Insurance
Valid public liability insurance must be in place for the duration of the works.Compliance with Approved Design
All installations must be carried out strictly in accordance with the approved system design, manufacturer installation instructions, and any method statements issued by Luxusheat.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in refusal of sign-off under the Umbrella Scheme.

Luxusheat provides full technical oversight, compliance, and certification support, including:
Homeowner System Performance Estimate
Estimated system performance and operating characteristics provided to the end user.Room-by-Room Heat Loss Calculations
Full heat loss calculations completed in accordance with MIS 3005 to meet MCS requirements.DNO Application
Completion and submission of the Distribution Network Operator application where required.Acoustic (Sound) Calculation
Sound assessments carried out to demonstrate compliance with permitted development or planning requirements.Emitter Design & Requirements
Radiator and/or underfloor heating design, including flow temperatures and output requirements.Hot Water Cylinder Sizing
Cylinder sizing undertaken in line with the guidance set out in BS 6700.Bespoke Installation Schematics
Project-specific schematics provided for all supplied equipment, including hydraulic layout and control strategy.MCS Certificate
Issue of the MCS certificate following successful installation, commissioning, and compliance sign-off.Workmanship Warranty
Workmanship warranty provided in accordance with scheme terms.Building Regulations Certification
Completion and issue of the relevant Building Regulations compliance certificate.Design Liability & Professional Indemnity
Full system design liability retained by Luxusheat and covered by appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Installer Responsibilities
Installers working under the Umbrella Scheme are responsible for:
Completing the installation in accordance with the approved design and specifications
Providing accurate installation and commissioning data
Rectifying any non-compliance issues identified prior to certification
